AMANDA PEARL: 269 products, none of them plated
219 products reference 14k gold, 76 reference sterling, and zero reference 18k, vermeil, gold-fill or plating. What made-in-NYC solid metal costs, and the 14-day clock that covers the parcel too.

AMANDA PEARL's live catalogue holds 269 products across 983 variants. Two hundred and nineteen of them reference 14k gold. Seventy-six reference sterling silver. Zero reference 18k, vermeil, gold-fill or plating.
That last number is the reason this brand earns a paragraph at all. There is no cheaper-looking tier hiding beneath the entry price, which means the $125 charm and the $2,435 ring are the same kind of object at different sizes.
What they actually sell
Direct-to-consumer fine jewelry made in New York City: necklaces, charms, earrings, rings, charm locks, bracelets and anklets, plus gift bundles and a ring sizer. The core franchises are Quill, Ripple and Molten, and a buildable charm and charm-lock system runs across them.
Amanda Pearl Brotman founded the business in 2008.
Who makes it, and where
New York City, specifically. The about page says the jewelry is "proudly manufactured by local artisans and small family businesses in NYC's diamond district", produced in small batches and sometimes individually, with no overseas production. The FAQ repeats it: "Our jewelry is all made right here in NYC, USA."
There is no wholesale channel. The brand's fair-pricing page says it has "cut out the middlemen", and the only physical point of sale is its own showroom at 209 West 38th Street, by appointment. That no-middleman argument is the brand's claim, not our finding. What can be checked is the layer underneath it — the metal — and the metal audit is in the first paragraph.
The stones, and the split that matters
The brand's materials guide says it "uses ethical, unmined, cultivated white diamonds, as well as other precious and semi-precious stones". Read that sentence slowly, because it does two different things.
The white diamonds are lab-grown. They are Diamond Foundry stones, described as solar-grown and carbon neutral. Grading is disclosed on some SKUs but not all: the Quill Bezel Stud is stated as 4mm, .25ct, colour E, clarity VS2. No grading laboratory is named against that grade, so it is the brand's own figure rather than a report anyone can check — ask for the certificate if the grade matters to you.
The coloured stones are mined, and their provenance is not stated. Sapphire, ruby, tourmaline, lapis, turquoise, amethyst, peridot, iolite, moonstone, spinel, carnelian, chrysoprase, phantom quartz, and Ethiopian opals. The "unmined" claim covers the white diamonds and reaches none of them — including the Slim Gemstone Necklace, which at $670–$740 across fifteen-plus colourways is the densest bestseller cluster in the catalogue. Pearls are cultured.
A few product pages describe stones only as "diamonds" or "ethical diamonds" with no lab-grown qualifier, so read the individual listing rather than generalising from the materials page.
One care note with money attached: the brand flags that several stocked stones sit at 5 or below on the Mohs scale, and that opals contain 5–6% water and can crack in dry conditions. Worn opals are final sale.

Individual pieces run about $125 to $8,615; multi-item gift bundles reach $18,210. Across all 983 live variants the distribution sits at $350 at the 25th percentile, about $810 at the median, $1,695 at the 75th and $3,715 at the 95th. The volume band is $600–$1,700.
One arithmetic point catches people out. Most earrings here are sold individually, not as pairs. The Quill Bezel Stud at $585–$600 is one earring. Two of them is $1,170–$1,200, and that is the figure to set against a rival's pair price.
Signature pieces
Quill, the sea-urchin-quill motif that was the founder's first collection, runs 19 products at $300–$6,000, led by the Quill Bypass Ring. Ripple runs 19 products from $400 up: the Ripple Ring at $1,065 plain, $1,265 demi-pavé and $2,050 full pavé, and Ripple Hoop Earrings at $1,645. Molten is the largest franchise at 78 products, $125–$8,615, including the Molten Band at $1,490. Charm Locks run 25 products at $135–$2,010, and Baroque Pearl pieces eight at $325–$1,420.
The terms
Fourteen days, and the clock covers the parcel too. The request and the completed return must both fall inside fourteen days of delivery. That is materially tighter than a fourteen-day window to raise your hand, and on our fifteen-brand return board only LUOSOPHY sets the same double condition. There is a December extension through the first week of January. Return shipping is complimentary, which is the offsetting kindness. Items must be unworn, undamaged and in original condition and packaging.
Final sale. Custom orders, and worn opals.
The shipping threshold contradicts itself. The homepage banner advertises free shipping and returns on US orders over $50; the shipping policy sets the threshold at $75 within North America. Both are the brand's own published statements.
What does not come back. Expedited shipping fees are non-refundable, and international duties and taxes are non-refundable even on a return.
Shipping mechanics. Orders process Monday to Friday and most ship within one to two days by UPS, one to five business days in North America, insured and signature-required. No PO Boxes, no AFPO or APO addresses. International goes via UPS with duties payable by the recipient.
Sizing and repairs. A printable ring-size guide, a sizing app, a purchasable ring sizer and in-person sizing at the New York showroom by appointment; some pieces can be enlarged or reduced on request. Backorders run two days to two weeks. Repairs take four to six weeks and are chargeable unless the damage is a manufacturing defect.
The press record
This is a thin file, and we would rather say so than pad it. Two citations resolve to the outlet that published them: The Seattle Times profiled Amanda Brotman in 2008, and The Zoe Report featured the brand's Pebble Necklace at $300 in a 2022 Mother's Day round-up.
The brand's own press page lists celebrity and magazine placements with no external links, and it contains at least one factual error. We have not counted any of it toward the total above, and a shopper should not read it as third-party endorsement either.
Ratings sit in the same position: the only reviews are merchant-hosted Okendo entries on the brand's own site. There is no Trustpilot profile, no BBB listing and zero Sitejabber reviews.

THE PENNYWEIGHT VERDICT
Buy at full price.
The number is zero: of 269 live products, none reference 18k, vermeil, gold-fill or plating. Every piece is solid 14k or solid sterling, which removes the most common way a jewelry price becomes hard to read. At a median of about $810 and a volume band of $600–$1,700, made in New York, that is a coherent proposition — and it is the one part of the brand's own fair-pricing argument that a buyer can actually verify.
Three conditions. Decide inside fourteen days of delivery and have the parcel moving inside them too, because the request alone does not stop the clock. Read the individual listing rather than the materials page, because only the white diamonds are lab-grown and the coloured stones and Ethiopian opals carry no stated provenance. And if you are pricing studs against another brand, remember you are looking at one earring.
Every figure above is drawn from amandapearl.com's own published pages and an audit of its live product feed, together with the two named outlets, as recorded in our brand files on 4–5 September 2026. Prices and terms change without notice. The Pennyweight buys nothing and accepts no gifted product.
