Culet
The culet is the point or small facet at the very bottom of a brilliant-cut stone. Modern cuts usually bring the pavilion to a point, recorded on a report as "none"; older stones often show an open culet, visible as a small dot when you look through the table. It is a proportion note rather than a fault, though a large open culet can read as a dark spot.
