Finley Shirts: cut and sewn in the USA, returnable for thirty days
One of only two brands on our fifteen-brand board with a 30-day return window — and it is the full-price window, not the whole-catalogue one. Prices $90–$645, the domestic-manufacturing record, and the 60/35/5 counterpoint.

Thirty days. Finley Shirts and Noémie are the only two of the fifteen luxury brands in our files that give you a month to change your mind, on a board where nine sit at exactly fourteen. On a $215 white shirt that is the single most valuable term attached to the purchase — and it applies only if you paid full price for it.
What they actually sell
Contemporary American women's shirting and dresses, out of Dallas. The catalogue held 250 live products at the time of check: 117 shirts, 107 dresses, 17 tops and 9 other. The merchandising organises around the brand's "15 basic shirts" — a house block of tailored button-downs and blouses — plus shirtdresses, tie-front and wrap dresses, a seersucker Gameday capsule and the Finley x Mended block-print collaboration.
Who makes it, and where
The USA, and the file supports it unusually well. "Made in the USA" appears 163 times across the 250 catalogue product descriptions and "Made in USA" a further 79 times, while the words "Imported", "China", "Portugal", "India" and "Peru" appear zero times. The Dallas Morning News reported in 2022 that Finley is one of a small group of brands responsible for the roughly 3% of apparel still manufactured domestically. Finley Moll and Heather McNeill founded the label in 1995.
Cut and sewn domestically is not the same claim as made from natural fibre, and here the two diverge. The signature "silky poplin" that runs through the core shirt block is 60% cotton / 35% polyester / 5% spandex, with a cotton-nylon-spandex variant on some styles. Across the catalogue, polyester is named 106 times, spandex 43, elastane 25 and viscose 21. Natural-fibre styles sit alongside it: 100% cotton appears 114 times, including the entire Mended collaboration; the Jasmine shirtdress is 100% washed linen; the Luna tops are cotton voile; the Raffaele crop shirt trims in 100% silk organza. No organic, recycled or deadstock fibre claim appears anywhere.
Construction detail is where the price shows: Akoya shell buttons, back yokes, hidden front plackets, roll-tab sleeves, hidden bra-strap holders, a spare button sewn into every shirt's side seam. Care skews washable — machine wash appears 198 times against dry clean 69.

The terms
Every term below is the brand's own published statement, recorded 5 September 2026.
Thirty days from receipt, with a prepaid label — but you must ask first. Merchandise sent back unannounced is refused. Goods must be unwashed, unworn and unaltered with tags and original packaging. Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable once the order has shipped. Thirty days is the joint-longest window on the fifteen-brand board in our return-window reference, where thirteen of fifteen give you fifteen days or fewer.
It is the full-price window, not the whole-catalogue window. Clearance and promotional items are final sale, and the refund policy states plainly that returns are not accepted on sale items or gift cards. Many current listings carry an inline final-sale flag. Buying the discounted shirt converts a thirty-day decision into a permanent one — the opposite of the usual advice to wait for the markdown.
Sizing runs XXS (0) through X-Large (16), bust 31–32 inches at XXS to 43–44 inches at X-Large. Every style is labelled FITTED, SEMI-FITTED or RELAXED, and several — the Crosby and the Jasmine dress among them — carry an explicit "RUNS LARGE, order one size down". The "INCLUSIVE SIZING" navigation item points at a six-style capsule, of which only three styles add 1X (18–20W) and 2X (22–24W). Thin, for a brand that merchandises around fit.
Two credits worth knowing. A one-time price adjustment is available within 7 days on full-price merchandise, as store credit only. And the Finley Perfect Fit Credit returns up to $50 in store credit toward alterations on a full-price website purchase, when the alteration receipt is uploaded within 30 days.
Shipping. Orders normally ship within 24 hours via FedEx; overnight and second-day orders must be placed by 12:00 noon CST. Complimentary US shipping from $150, international a $20 flat rate.
The press record
Two citations in our file for Finley Shirts are coverage we have read at the outlet's own site: the Dallas Morning News piece in 2022 on domestic manufacturing, and an NBC 5 DFW Texas Today interview with co-founder Finley Moll the same year. Two further links — a 2020 WFAA item whose headline our file took from the URL slug, and an undated CW33 segment — we have not read at source, so they are links, not coverage.
Distribution is wholesale-led through JOOR, and the returns policy references "our retail stores", indicating owned retail; the store locator renders client-side only, so the boutique list could not be retrieved. We found no evidence of Net-a-Porter, Moda Operandi, Nordstrom, Saks, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman or Shopbop carrying the brand, and no third-party review history: no Trustpilot profile, no BBB profile, zero Sitejabber reviews.
Comparable brands
Frank & Eileen, Anne Fontaine, Hinson Wu, Elizabeth McKay and Misook. Anne Fontaine and Frank & Eileen are the direct shirting comparisons, and fibre content is the line to compare: a domestic cut-and-sew claim and an all-cotton claim are not the same claim.
THE PENNYWEIGHT VERDICT
Buy at full price.
The number is 30. Thirty days from receipt, a prepaid label, and up to $50 back toward a tailor — against nine of fifteen brands on our board at fourteen days and several that bill you for the leg home. On a $215 Crosby, a month to decide and $50 toward alterations is worth more than any markdown this catalogue offers, because the markdown is what takes the thirty days away.
The counterpoint stays on the record: the signature silky poplin is 60% cotton / 35% polyester / 5% spandex, so what the $190 Joey buys is domestic cut-and-sew and finishing detail, not an all-natural cloth. If natural fibre is the point, the 100% washed linen Jasmine at $335 and the 114 all-cotton styles are where to look — and the Crosby and Jasmine both run large, so order down.
Prices, fabric compositions, catalogue counts, policy terms and press citations are drawn from Finley Shirts' own published pages and product data and from the named outlets, as recorded in our brand files on 4–5 September 2026. Terms change without notice. The Pennyweight buys nothing, accepts no gifted product, and is not affiliated with any brand or retailer named here.
