Glossary · Worth It?
Cost Per Wear
Cost per wear divides what a piece costs by the number of times you actually wear it. A $600 coat worn twice a week for four years costs about $1.50 a wear; a $60 top worn twice costs $30. Subtract any realistic resale recovery for a net figure. It is the only calculation that makes a cheap purchase and an expensive one directly comparable.
