Guide · for capsule builders

Building a Capsule That Earns Its Cost

A capsule is a cost-per-wear strategy with a wardrobe attached. The pieces that justify their price are the ones a calendar actually reaches for — and the arithmetic tells you which those are before the closet does.

What matters most here

  • Buy for the wears you can name, not the life you are imagining
  • Favour pieces with an obvious second and third context over single-occasion buys
  • Record what each piece cost and how often it is worn — the numbers correct taste quickly
  • Treat resale recovery as a bonus, never as a discount you have already banked

Do not · Do not let a sale price set the wear count. A discounted piece worn twice still costs more per wear than a full-price one worn weekly.
